Homes Sales are Up Across North Texas

From The Dallas Morning News: Preowned home sales in North Texas were up again in September – the 15th month in a row that monthly home purchases have been higher than the previous year in the year.
Real estate agents sold 6,103 single-family homes through their multiple listing service last month, a 10 percent gain according to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University and the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems.
With September’s increase, home sales in the area are 15 percent higher through the first nine months of 2012 compared with the same period last year.
Median home sales prices in September rose 10 percent from a year ago to $162,000.
And the number of homes listed for sale in North Texas dropped 17 percent from September 2011.
The average time it takes to sell a house in the area is 69 days – down 22 percent from this time last year, the new Realtors’ report shows.
