Decorating With Gold Gives Your Home a Rich and Regal Ambiance

Have a golden autumn by surrounding yourself with gilded home decor! This metallic hue works all year long and adds a touch of luxury and elegance to any room. Elle Decor notes that, “The shimmering metallic color has recently made a stunning resurgence, appearing not only in decorative objects and picture frames, but also in large-scale furnishings and wall treatments. It can be as gleaming and reflective as chrome and silver, but gold also has the advantage that its sunny character is infinitely warmer.”

Here are a few inspirational homes and decorative items done up in this glamorous hue. Click an image below to zoom and view the gallery. Click here to see more of our recently posted home staging and decor tips.

Color moods: The color gold stands for richness and prosperity. It is also a solid color and is mostly associated with the sign of health, endurance and cheerfulness in life. This color also represents prestige and is used to explain a certain high status.

Color personality: Gold is also linked with abundance and authority, wisdom and a deep understanding about things. This color fills you up with energy and inspires you. Not only this, the color gold is helpful in getting rid of fear and hesitation regarding certain ideas in your mind.

Color psychology: Lavishness is the perception of gold, and regal are those who wear it. Gold makes you feel exceptional and gives off an ambiance of confidence and success. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, the color psychology of gold implies affluence, material wealth and extravagance.

Color pairings: The interior decorators use the color gold in places where they want to show or enhance a certain level of energy and warmth. Really, gold goes with just about anything, but what’s trending right now is pairing gold with ultra-bright hues (think hot pink, electric blue, etc) or with black for a timeless, pulled-together look.
